How Consigning Works at Secondli
Most of what you'll find at Secondli was consigned by people from the neighbourhood. When you consign with us, we handle the entire selling process: pricing, listing, selling, and everything in between. You earn 30% to 60% of the final sale price once your item sells, plus a 10% bonus when you choose store credit instead of cash.
Explore what we are currently accepting
Every piece is carefully selected for its style, quality, and seasonal relevance. We are currently accepting quality spring and summer items from the following styles.
Boho-Chic
Flowing maxi dresses and skirts, embroidered or lace blouses, crochet, suede, worn leather, refined animal prints, and expressive finishes such as ruffles, pearls, or feathers.
Brands like Free People, Faithfull the Brand, Reformation, COS, Massimo Dutti, AllSaints, Cop Copine, and quality vintage are strong references, but the label matters less than the silhouette, fabric, and overall feel.
Classic-Chic
Crisp poplin shirts, marinières, cardigans layered over the shoulders, high-waisted jeans, and perfectly tailored trousers create a silhouette that is clean, confident, and quietly expressive. Patterns such as plaid and polka dots, along with subtle details like ruffles or pearls, bring a touch of personality while maintaining an overall sense of balance and refinement.
Brands such as Sézane, Maje, Sandro, Club Monaco, Comptoir des Cotonniers, J.Crew, Lacoste and Maison Scotch are strong references.
Essentials
Straight and high-waisted jeans without distressing or heavy detailing, classic denim jackets, simple leather jackets, long-sleeve tops, quality T-shirts, and minimalist knitwear.
Brands such as Aritzia, Brandy Melville, Alo, Frank And Oak, Kotn, Levi’s, Tommy Hilfiger are strong references.
Indie Sleaze
Low-waisted jeans, fitted jackets, knee-high or cowboy boots, studs, glitter, and bold finishes that bring contrast and energy to an outfit. Denim with a strong cut, body-conscious dresses, graphic or slightly distressed tops, and iconic early-2000s references define the wardrobe.
Brands such as Diesel, Mexx, Miss Sixty, True Religion, Von Dutch, Parsuco, McQueen, and similar labels are strong indicators of the aesthetic, but the focus remains on the silhouette, the wash, and the attitude of the piece.
Streetwear
Loose denim and jorts, crewnecks, relaxed shirts, corduroy trousers, hoodies, and outerwear with a clear vintage or sport influence.
80' and 90' items, and brands such as Dime, Adidas, Nike, Le Cartel, Arc’teryx, Stüssy, Supreme, and similar labels are key references.
We accept vintage as well as contemporary quality pieces from mid and high-end brands, in feminine, unisex, and masculine cuts, including clothing, footwear, bags, accessories, and jewellery.
Every item should arrive freshly washed and in excellent condition. If you'd wear it, we probably want it.
Drop-Off
To make your first drop-off, you need to book an appointment through the link at the bottom of this page. You'll be asked to provide your contact information and electronically sign the consignment terms, which will be sent once your booking is confirmed.
Only your first drop-off requires an appointment. After that, you're welcome to bring additional items anytime during opening hours without one. Each drop-off includes a short preliminary selection with you and takes about 15 minutes.
If you have a specific price expectation for any item, let us know at drop-off and we'll confirm whether we can accept it at that price. Once an item is dropped off, we determine the final pricing.
Accepted items can be retrieved only if unsold after 2 months, by notifying us by email with 48 hours notice.
Selection
Even though a preliminary selection is done with you at drop-off, the final selection process takes approximately 1 to 3 weeks, depending on volume we received.
Items are evaluated based on their alignment with seasonal styles and current demand, as well as their condition and quality. The acceptance or rejection of an item remains at our sole discretion.
Once the selection is complete, you will receive an email with the list of accepted items and their initial pricing.
Sales
Items will be offered in our physical store on Mont-Royal Avenue or, when deemed appropriate, through other sales channels or platforms. The consignment period begins on the date an item is accepted and ends when it is sold or when we notify you that it can no longer remain in store.
You will receive an automated email notification each time one of your items sells. You can also track your inventory, sales, and account balance through your client portal.
During the first 2 months, we may apply a discount of up to 25% to the initial price to support the sale of an item. After the second month, a discount of up to 40% may be applied if the item remains unsold.
Earnings
A commission will be added to your account for each item sold.
Cash commission is calculated based on the final sale price and the corresponding percentage below:
- Less than $50 — 30%
- $50 to $99 — 40%
- $100 to $199 — 50%
- $200 and over — 60%
Your account balance increases by an additional 10% when used as store credit for in-store purchases.
You may collect your account balance in cash in-store during our opening hours. You can also request an Interac e-Transfer by email, which will be processed within 3 business days. For Interac e-Transfers under $50, a $2 processing fee will be deducted, unless all your items have been sold.
Unaccepted or Unsold Items
You will be notified by email of items that are either initially refused or remain unsold. If you do not retrieve these items within 2 weeks, you forfeit all rights, titles, and interests in them, and they will become our property. We will donate unclaimed items to a local organization or repurpose them through other upcycling initiatives.
Communications
We collect your consent to receive various electronic notifications from Secondli. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking "Unsubscribe" at the bottom of the email or by contacting us at client@secondli.ca. However, we are not responsible for items that may be donated if you choose to stop receiving notifications from us.
We may update the consignment terms from time to time. Any changes will be communicated via email. You are free to request the return of your consigned items if you do not agree with the changes made.
Schedule your first deposit
Consignment demand can exceed our shop capacity depending on the season, and appointment availability may become limited or fully booked. We update our availability approximately once a week.
If you don't see any availability, check back in a few days as new slots open up regularly.
